XF 1.2 Sub-Forum Display

I seem to be having a weird issue with the sub forums not being displayed just as a sub-forum, but also right underneath the main forum on the main page as shown here:


As you can see, I have made the Farewells section a child node, but yet it appears on the main page. I also wish to inquire about the narrow blue bars that appear underneath the category and some of the forums:


Any reason it is doing this? Because I believe that they all should look like this:

What does the node structure look like in the ACP?
Here you go. I am just confused, because on the previous versions of xenforo, the child nodes would go into the adult nodes and there would be a small bullet listing how many sub-forums were in the adult node.

You need to put the forums as child nodes of the category, as they are for the last screenshot you posted. Right now they are all 'root' nodes, so XenForo adds in a blank line (as you pointed out) to separate them.
