XF 1.4 Style issue for guests only - thread_view

Not sure how best to track this down.
The issue only occurs in this child style of Whisper2 so it must be something I've customized and is related only to guest view. I've tried the obvious and disabled other addons one by one with no change.

The addon is Rate Threads with Stars but I don't believe its the addon's fault. I'm 99.9% certain the issue is caused by me

How should I best hunt this problem down?

Does the problem disappear when you disable the rate threads add-on?

I'm not actually seeing the rate threads or problem viewing that thread as a guest.

It does disappear when that addon is disabled.

I have the addon disabled for now. If you'd like to take a look, I can re-enable.

Does it happen in a default style?

no, only in this child style.
I'm comparing all custom changes in templates now.

If you enable the add-on again I can take a look.

The problem is the rating div for the add-on is floated left and without the page nav, it pushes down into the main section div.

If you clear the section div (I've added clear: left), it resolves it.
