Strongly recommend integrating AI functionality

A close relative is an AI Engineer developing his own Large Language Models (LLM) / Generative AI. He's working on the add-on described in this discussion for XenForo search, as well as several other projects. One being this one:

I like the "Trending content" feature, which shows what everyone likes. It would be even better if algorithms could be used to display themes that each unique visitor likes.

It seems impossible for Xenforo itself to present the forum information available that the member wants to see. There is no attempt at trying to match content to the user. That passive approach lowers the usefulness of the forum to the user. Social Media users expect the content they want to be given to them.

We could setup a system where users would simply add topics of interest in their profile and then AI would relate new discussions to those interests - and relay them to the user by email, notification, or an “interest feed”.

It's much better if it happens automatically in the background, especially as interests change over time and you don't want people to have to continually update "their interests".

matching up users to the content they want - and feeding that to them in a doom scroll is another addon.

focus on your thread summary idea :)

I see what you’re saying. An algorithm based system that simply makes note of which types of topics you typically interact with.

That starts with the content you have that previous users have interacted with (content that is popular)

When someone Google searches for something - and lands on your site - obviously that's important information.

Based on that, you'd want to make all similar content readily available (not just "similar threads" at the bottom of the page).

Maybe similar threads at the end of the Summary !
