Was just in St. Augustine last weekend and ran into one of those. Man I hate spiders.

And I've been in central Florida for 12 years now and never seen the stick bugs.

Unsure of the first, but I've been outside plenty of times and haven't come across one. Or maybe I have, and just never actually saw it but it saw me.

Walking sticks come in a wide variety. I have seen them in Oklahoma, Kansas, Iowa, Indiana, and on the Appalachian Trail. They have a wide distribution around the world from the desert to the jungle. I doubt you can find one in a frozen tundra though.
