XF 1.5 Specially shaped nodes: is it possible on XenForo ? If yes, how ?

A question went through my mind:
Specially shaped nodes: is it possible on XenForo ? If yes, how ?

Let me explain myself with an example.
Your category has a background of a car. If you click on the left tire, it opens Forum X. If you click on the wheel, it opens Forum Y. But since those have non-rectangular forms (nor a perfect circle, already thought of border-radius 50%), is it even possible ?

That's not really anything to do with Xenforo but if you made one you could certainly stick it in the forum template etc.

Someone might have some better advice and there might be a fancy javascript or HTML5 way to achieve it.

I'd follow that tutorial and get the HTML code for the image map how you want it. Then I'd test it by sticking it into a notice.

That's all quite "manual" but if it's a one off thing you want to do it sounds achievable.
