XF 1.3 Spam Cleaner Not Doing Anything When Attempting To Delete All User Activity

So I ran into this problem today where the spam cleaner doesn't seem to be doing anything. I had a user ask me to delete his user name and all of his posts. I figured the easiest way was to use the cleaner. I set the maximum options at 10,000 for all three options, and then went in and clicked on spam in one of his posts. All boxes present are checked. I hit 'clean up', the progress bar runs, and then it just stops and nothing changes. No activity is present in the log. I've tried this now in two separate browsers and I can't get it to work. Suggestions?

Also, as a related question, how can I get the cleaner to work on posts of this user that have been quoted?

Ok, how about deleting them in small batches then?

You could always take a shot, trying this will never hurt

I ended up getting it. Through a combination of using @Andy's delete posts to whittle down his post count to around 1000 and then using the spam cleaner. Took a LONG time and was a lot of work.

I smacked into this issue again today trying to spaminate a guy with 1000 posts who turned out to be a vile troll. I ran the cleaner, it ran for a minute, and then it just died and did nothing.

How do I run it if he never started a thread?

I would have expected some of those 1,000 posts to be new threads.

If not then obviously you can't use that.

I had already deleted the few threads he started. I managed to get the spam cleaner to work by whittling down his post count using Andy's delete post addon again and, once it got down under 100, it worked.
