something new seems to be happening with suspect user names.

I manually check all new users to my forum since there seems to be too many false positives when screening by IP address.

Out of the last 11 new registrations 6 are following a pattern.

These 6 are showing up on IP addresses listed as dictionary attackers. I can almost always find something about them by searching the user name and email address. These last 6 comes up empty.

Each one of them shows they are modifying the account but I see no changed.

I am got a lot of these yesterday and started taking a closer look today since the ratio is getting worse and worse.

It looks like these are bots that are not working quite right to me.

Has anyone else noticed this kind of thing. The one thing they all have in common is a year following the user name.

A year with a user name is not that odd but it is when 6 out of the last ten new members does this.

Hmmm, seem's I cannot edit my post.

It seems that only half of them have a year at the end of these suspect user names.

it will also say that if somebody is viewing their news feed. there are possibly other pages that will show that location as well.

In the last three days I have gone from about 40% fraudulent registrations to about 80%. What strikes me is I am seeing patterns I have not seen before.
