Some questions before purchase

I have a medicine/healthcare-oriented website that I have recently launched, and wish to add a forum under a subdomain. After some research, I've settled on XenForo but have a few questions before I proceed:

1. I would like to have a section of the forums available only to physicians. Is it possible to limit access to various parts of the forum to selected users only?

2. There is a physician-only network called Doximity, and they offer their API so that one may use their physician-verification engine for login purposes. Would it be possible to integrate that with XenForo? I understand that it will require custom development, but want to know if it is possible.

Yes, the permissions system allows for that very easily.
