Social Groups alternative?

I'm aware that Xenforo doesn't have the "Social Groups" feature. Is there a way round this so site members can create their own private discussion groups?

No, but I am considering getting one.

No recommendation, I don't use any of them. Users of each will no doubt recommend the one they use. Your best bet is to look at each one, read through the discussion threads and ask questions so you can make your own decision based on your requirements.
