XF 1.5 SMTP SSL not working

Hello,

I want to use SMTP SSL so that email notifications can be received in the inbox. Currently they are received in the junk mail.

I have another script, that has nothing to do with my XF forum. I provided the SMTP SSL credentials to this script and it is working perfectly. All emails are received in the inbox.

However, I provided the same credentials in XF mail options. The result was that email notifications are not received at all.
I changed the port and chose the non-ssl option. The email notifications are still received in the junk mail.

Any idea why SSL not working?

SSL itself will not make sure that the email goes into the inbox.
There are many factors involved for inbox receipt.
DKIM, SPF, DMARC and RDNS are the main ones that have to be configured correctly.

If you are talking about using SMTP in the ACP, make sure that your port #'s and the SSL or TLS is correct. You may have to experiment with either TLS or SSL.
