Show resent posts above Forums

Hi there.

I am really enjoying this wonderful Xenforo - so glad I bought it.
I am now adding features to the board before I will import all my members from our PHPbb3 forum.

Question: I would really love to have lets say the recent 5 or 10 posts shown above the Forum (below the breadcrumbs) That would make it very easy and fast for the user to see if anything exciting is happening without the need of going to Users and Recent Activity.

I have found an add-on called Latest Posts Header Block cat ragtex.org but because I am complete new to xenforo any advises would be very appreciated.

Maybe there is an even better way to do it?

Yep I have searched the add-ons without any luck. Maybe one of the users had some experiences to share.

I believe you can technically setup this up using xenporta and it's newer layout feature. There's a recent post "widget" you can plug above the thread listing if I'm not mistaken. Might be a little overkill, but it gets the job done.
