Some interesting stuff.

I'm still amazed at how many large sites use sans-serif though. It seems that on the majority of screens it's still easier on the eye even if technically serif is still better for readability.

Has anyone considered using any google web fonts for the standard message text? With fall backs to a more standard stack.

If so, any suggestions on which of the 500 to experiment with?

Any reason why it wouldn't be a good idea to use web fonts?
Both Imperial and xenBook use Google Web Fonts, and a new style I'm doing for a personal site will make use of more unique typography.

Oh cool, the PT Serif is quite subtle, my untrained I wouldn't have noticed without comparing it to the default. I quite like the open sans.

Would you mind sharing which font's that interest you that you're experimenting with for your personal site at the moment?

Would you use an sans font for message text or are you inclined to always stick with serif for that?

I usually keep with Sans Serif fonts for message, though this style will be using a serif one (https://typekit.com/fonts/cronos-pro).

Most of the typography will be used for headings, and things like user titles in messages and the like.

Here is the closest (For my use at least) I've found to Cronos Pro for a webfont:http://www.google.com/webfonts#UseP...alic,700italic|Sorts+Mill+Goudy:400,400italic

EDIT: Added the Sans Serif I'm using (Not exactly a match for what I needed, but a few glyphs matched my preference more than what I need to mimic).
