Forum has been running for many years, no problems... regular updates, a small number of extensions, 5000 active users, forum is constantly in use, but not high volume.
CRON jobs set to "activity based", and with constant real non-bot activity on the forum, this has never been an issue.
Suddenly about a week ago users have reported that email notifications of a waiting PM or a subscribed topic take many hours, or even a full day to arrive. As far as i can tell, they do come, but not like they used to... hours or days instead of minutes. I've changed no settings during this time.
Was running 2.3.8... then, in an attempt to fix this problem, I upgraded to 2.3.9. no change... so the issue existed on both versions.
AdminCP->Tools->test email send works fast... email gets to me in seconds, so it's not in the sending.
Shouldn't there be a CRON entry for "send email queue" or something like that? There isn't one... but I've not touched the CRON area of ACP. It looks like this:
Can anyone help me figure out if I'm missing a Cron entry, and if so, what should it be?
I'm not very technical... appreciate any help anyone might offer.
