Yes, it will scan add on files too. It will scan all files inside the forum folder regardless of their being status. Meaning core files, files added by third party add ons or added by any other means.

Does this scan attachments for malicious code injection or virus?

It doesn't detect viruses per se, but all keywords used by admin to search their forum files will be detected.

Maybe it's an idea to add a virus scanner as well.

Maybe it's an idea to add a virus scanner as well.

It's not really needed imo because it will catch and report viruses too as well as malicious stuff.

That said, I can add an automated virus and malicious scanner to check for a wide array of php&filesystem functions, code&command executions. This will make it more thorough.
