Fixed Search results formatting

There seems to be a random issue with apostrophes and quotation marks when viewing search results. Same entries on the tag page are fine. Any ideas what might be causing this? Some entries render fine on search with the same text and some don't

Is it always the same posts which don't render correctly?

Can you check the raw post content for those posts in the database?

Click on an affected post to get the post ID, then check the xf_post table using phpMyAdmin.

I will do that, but I just found something else interesting. The results returned (and errors) vary based upon what is searched.

Searching for "half persian 3 in 1" (errors visible):

BTW, these are all resources, not thread posts. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Thank you for reporting this issue, it has now been resolved. We are aiming to include any changes that have been made in a future XF release (2.2.2).

Change log:

Prevent invalid characters from being displayed in certain cases when highlighting search results.

There may be a delay before changes are rolled out to the XenForo Community.
