in XF 2.2 it was still the case that ‘Advanced search’ redirected to /search. now /search/search
But this is all rather inconsistent.
search still works
if you click on search at the top you also get to /search
I realise that (search button) triggers the search directly and is therefore /search/search. Nevertheless, there is still an illogicality with the others

Wouldn't it make more sense to use a consistent line here?

Illogic continues

When I directly call up https://xenforo.com/community/search/search nothing works - but when I click on ‘Advanced search...’ it is the same url but without ‘ooops’

Any changes here were intentional.

search/search is where a search is actually performed. The reason why you see that in the URL when clicking "Advanced search" is because that button now submits the form and we reroute to the advanced search page with existing search terms and options already populated.

So if you type your search query and then decide you want to add more filters, you don't have to retype your search query on the advanced page. The search/search in the URL is an artefact of that.

Yes, really well thought out! The users now post /search/search
what is the result? Error messages and thousands of questions as to why the URL suddenly no longer works.

If they are posted in a post or elsewhere!

Especially since what's the point? Above Search lands from /search and advance on /search/search but both the same!
Sorry if I have to say it like this! It's all rubbish!

This is how you can artificially create dead links! THANK YOU!

They'll get used to it with your guidance and instruction.

I'm not really sure under what scenarios a user would be posting a URL to /search/search or why they would be doing so to such an extent that it causes a problem.

Could you also clarify for me on which site this is with regards to?

How do you get to the search form under XF2.2? Exactly by clicking on ‘Advanced search’ and copying the URL from the browser bar and linking it...
And with XF 2.3 - how does a user link to the search? If he doesn't know how to get there? Just like under XF2.2. He clicks on ‘Advanced search’ and gets the form and for the user everything seems normal - so you can take the URL that the browser displays...
Unfortunately, this is no longer the case since XF 2.3.
I don't think this is ok!

Especially as I don't understand why a search has to be triggered under ‘Advanced search’! Perhaps this should be clarified beforehand! Because you don't do this nonsense with the main nav button ‘Search’. So where is the added value there?

Which side - this one! My page should be irrelevant! It's about the behaviour and your illogicality to trigger a search with ‘Advanced search’! See the video!
Are you seriously trying to tell me that this is so logical and user-friendly? Especially since you never had this behaviour in all other previous versions.
Unbelievable!

Though I would suggest that if there isn't an improvement in attitude, I wouldn't bother. It's difficult to have a constructive conversation with someone who seems intent on sensationalising a trivial issue in such an aggressive way.
