In the search mask for Threads and Posts there are the lists for prefixes and forums. So I can choose none of them, one of them or both of them. But if I choose both it can happen that the selected prefix doesn't fit to the selected forum and the search result will be zero from the start. That can be really frustating. My suggestion is to auto update the prefix list in the mask and filter those prefixes that apply to the selected forum, when I select one of the forums. (And maybe vice versa?)
