XF 1.5 Scripts within conditionals in templates?

This is what I need:

<xen:if is="{$my.condition}">
<script type="text/javascript">
$('.myscript'). bla bla bla{
});
</script>
</xen:if>

but seems it that's not the way to run scripts within conditionals? (it doesn't work)
