Screen cast recording tools, what is good?

Free or at least not expensive for a PC, what is good? Annotations or being able to zoom in and out would be especially good. I want to make 'how to' videos to ease my members into using xf, they will need help finding all the nice tidbits.

I have used Cam Studio, and some of it is not intuitive to setup, at least the audio set up isn't.

I found this:

Anyone know what Kier used for some of the Have You Seen threads?

iShowU on Mac, it's quick, small file output, and when you stop recording, it's done for distribution.

Camtasia Studio on Windows. ;)

Mac already has an screenrecording-tool, since QuickTime X was rolled out. ;)

Yes, but if you know what you are doing you know that QTX is certainly not what you want to use. It's lacking dramatically.

I have looked at Camtasia, I believe that is $300. I realize it may be possible to keep downloading the 30 day trial version over and over but I'd rather not do that.

Any other recommended screen cast recording tools for a PC?
