Fixed Screen automatically rotating on PWA Xenforo 2.3

Hi,
After upgrading to xenforo 2.3, members using PWA app reported that app screen automatically rotating even they have turned off screen rotation on their mobile. On web browser, they are not facing this issue, it's happening on PWA app only.

Reported memebrs mobile: samsungs S24 plus, Samsung S20, Samsung s24, Samsung s20 FE, etc.

yeah it was fixed on 2.2.x but got messed up in 2.3 betas.

So, just wanted to post as a fyi here that 2.3 Beta 4 (including here) has "orientation": "any", in webmanifest.php file.

This add-on is unable to fix the issue on XF 2.3. I manually removed
$manifest['orientation'] = 'any'; tried
$manifest['orientation'] = 'portrait';
Nothing seems to work here.

pwa manifest file is cached by the browser. you would need to delete existing pwa. clear out cache properly and then install it again. or wait for 24-48 hours for browser to update itself.

Can you reproduce this here? Android only updates PWA settings periodically so the effect may not be immediate.

The problem was solved by uninstalling the application and reinstalling it.

Yeah, that forces an update. Otherwise Android only updates the configuration every 24+ hours I believe.
