    Odd... when did we start defining markup using schema.org instead of data-vocabulary.org??

    In most of the cases, these guys are not creating anything new. They are just re-using earlier work done by various digital library community efforts. It is just a matter of putting things together on which, major search engines agree.

    When did we begin defining markup from data-vocabulary.org vs. W3C?

    I don't believe W3C had links for each itemtype definition like data-vocabulary did.
