Duplicate Run image attachments through smush.it

[D.O.A.]

As you may or may not know smush.it (yahoo) is a great way to reduce image size and keep quality, it's great for reducing images in themes > page load and also is supported for example by plugins for wordpress that will retrospectively compress every image shown on your website.

Any chance we could see option in the core to route image attachments via smush.it? or is this wishful thinking that should be in add on requests?
