XF 1.3 Retrieving dynamically changing size

Can I retrieve a dynamically changing <div> size such as message container width (which changes based on the browser width) ?
Maybe something like @headerLogoHeight but its value will dynamically change based on the browser width ?

Use media queries and a CSS class for the div.

I used media queries, but it did not change the width smoothly per pixel changes. It does only change the css width per media width, doesn't it.

Typically divs will automatically expand with the content but without seeing it in context, it's difficult to know exactly what it is you're trying to do.
