The member contacted by support ticket and was deemed a valid user making a mistake. Therefore the spam cleaner action was restored.
The offending post now become automatically approved, while it should still have been in moderated state like before.

This seems a minor bug.

This is essentially a design issue. We don't track historical state of content anywhere. There may be suggestions surrounding it, but if not, you're free to create one.

I think such suggestion would not attract any votes because it would be too technical in nature and does not happen frequently enough.

This issue exists for users as well, even though historical states are tracked. Rather than solving this by tracking historical state, it may make more sense to have separate flags, with the state being a dynamically calculated field based on the most restrictive flag. We've been able to implement workarounds for some of the issues that arise from this design, but we're definitely headed in the direction of separate flags.
