Required Custom User Field For Registration

I'd like to have this, the way Digitalpoint.com does on my registration page. Is it possible to do it with a custom user field, and also have it not show up on any of their profile pages?

Add a new custom user field, show it during Registration, Make it required, user editable (only once), and uncheck "Viewable on profile pages"

Thanks for the reply. I can't seem to get it to appear as in the picture. There are required text fields that need to be displayed, and the display order doesn't seem to be able to put it in the desired location. Maybe this is the job for an add-on
