Replacing text in one of our custom user fields

For one of our custom user fields we ask for our users Battle.net accounts: user#1234, the idea is to display the user's overwatch profile. However, the URL of the user's profile replaces the hashtag # with -. Is there any way to automatically replace the hashtag with the dash utilizing in the display url for the custom user fields?
