MG 2.1 Removing redundant media gallery implications?

Hi guys,

We find that most of our members use attachments and as these dont upload to the gallery it is only being used by 1 or 2 members and even then very rarely.

So my question is, what happens if we want to delete the gallery? will the images on those thread that used the gallery be lost etc?

It seems a waste renewing licenses etc and upgrading something that is no longer used but we don't want to alienate members by losing their images in their threads.

Yes. Uninstalling the XFMG deletes the data.

When it comes time to renew, just don't renew the media gallery. You'll still have access to it, just not updates or support for it.

Official XF add-ons are tied to the main license.

They all have to be renewed at the same time.

Otherwise, submit a ticket if you want XFMG removed from the license.

Yes, convert image all. However it will convert all images that aren't attachments into attachments, including those from external sites. You could modify the code in the plugin to only affect images from your site domain/media URL but that would be on you to modify it.
