XF 2.0 Remove "New Posts" button

How do we remove "new posts" button from forum list? Topic doesn't come up in search results.

Admin control panel -> Setup -> Public navigation -> Forums -> New posts -> Delete (Garbage can icon)

HI Andy,
I'm referring to the call to action button next to the " post thread" button. There are two buttons top right hand corner and I want to remove the "new posts" one. It's redundant. Actually I would like to remove both of them if possible.

remove everything between <xf:else /> and the second </xf:if> after that
