XF 2.1 Remove gradient from Major Heading background

I want to remove the gradient on the background of the Major Heading area. In other words I want it to be flat. I looked in style properties and did not see where to do this.

Are you using the original style from XenForo or did you installed a theme ?

Original style. See the picture. I want the major heading background that the red arrows point to be flat like the top navigation row background. Both places are the same color (0,0,0) but the major heading background has a gradient that I want to remove so it has a flat appearance like the top navigation row.

Appearance > Styles Properties > Blocks > Header Blocks > remove the Code Freeform CSS/LESS

Maybe you can help me with one more thing. I just upgraded to 2.1 from 1.5 and it seems the templates and names are different. I want to add an image and text in the header block to the right side of where the logo image is. What is the best way to do this?
