XF 2.1 Remove /forums ?

I only plan to host xenForo on my domain. Is it possible to do the following?

- remove /forums from the URL and have everything serve from the domain root?

- remove the "home" navigation tab so just the "forums" tab is visible. Otherwise, it seems redundant.

Any help is appreciated.

Install XF in the root.

Remove the home page URL in the options.

After changing the setting, I'm now seeing 404 errors in most areas. Is there a cache or something I need to rebuild after making the changes?

Edit - Found this thread and disabled FURLs. Now everything is working.
