XF 1.2 Remove data from BB code cache (days)

Just looking at some of the settings in the ACP, and wondering what other people have changed this setting to?

Remove data from BB code cache (days)

It's set to 30 by default, but is there any benefit to increasing it to store more cached BB codes?

I have disabled it completely.
It massively increased the size of my database and overall it doesn't really offer much benefit.

Just had a look in the database, and that table is currently 103Mb. That does seem large, especially for a site with < 250,000 posts!

Parsed BB code cache
The parse tree of messages is now cached for a configurable length of time. Note that this is the parse tree, not the compiled output. The final compiled output is still handled at run time. This gives significant performance improvements, but does not limit the dynamic nature of BB code output (by style, language, or user viewing).

This cache can easily be used by any content types.

You can safely empty (I use phpMyAdmin to Empty the table) the xf_bb_code_parse_cache at any time. No other tables need to be emptied.

You can safely empty (I use phpMyAdmin to Empty the table) the xf_bb_code_parse_cache at any time. No other tables need to be emptied.

Thanks - phpmyamdin uses truncate to empty the table. I'll use that command.

Isn't there an Empty tab in phpMyAdmin? There is on my version. But yes phpMyAdmin uses the Truncate Query.

Empty or truncate the xf_bb_code_parse_cache table and switch off the BB code parse caching option in the Admin CP.

It's actually removed from XF 2.0 as for most sites there's little benefit.
