I saw how XenForo implemented the Related Resources, by adding it as custom field.
However, the best location is to have it in the sidebar above Other Resources from User. Ideally, a search based field should be available for Related Resources while editing or creating the resource. Once a related resource is added, it should stay pinned when you edit the main resource again.
