Reduce unused CSS to improve performance.

There is a lot of unused CSS in Xenforo. On the forum list, in the default style, there is 149k. On AVForums there is 350k (over 90%) unused.
While I'm going to work on removing unused CSS from our addons by various means, there is a lot in the core software.
Is there any way that CSS can be optimised, lazy loaded or by some other means reduced in order to improve the efficiency and performance?

css lists aloooot of font awesome icons that are not used. yes, those are really useless for me.
