XF 1.4 Redoing usergroups the right way?

Hello,

When I first opened my forum, I wasn't aware of the "proper way" of setting up usergroups (here). Knowing I made this mistake and have been running my forums since with the wrong implementation of permissions, I now want to change this to the right way. Is there a easy way of doing this without having to redo all usergroups and possibly affecting users and their usergroups they're in?

There is no easy way of redoing them all.
You just need to go through each group/node and set them up.

Suggestion: Create new user groups - then use the user group promotions to automatically place users into the new user groups. Remove the old user groups when all have been migrated.
