Lack of interest Recompress and Resize attachments

I've got loads of imported attachments from older forum software and many of these files are 5MB+. I'd like to see a "rebuild cache" option which will resize and compress images to the current max image dimension settings.

This would save me GB's of space, which is badly needed!
