Not a bug Received alert that thread was updated, but not following

I looked this over, but can't find an explanation. This morning (9/30/2011 6:20am CST US), I got an alert that this thread was updated by Marcus.

I don't understand why I got it. I wasn't following it, don't follow anybody in the thread and I hadn't participated in it, nor had I liked anything in that thread. Post #12 is what triggered the alert...

The alert said: Marcus replied to the thread Slow first render time. There may be more posts after this.
