Just getting started. We're a wanna be educational forum. Well, I want the site to be educational, but my friend just likes to see himself type. I call him an 80 ton ego. He is eloquent and entertaining, but that's not the crowd (I'M) looking for.

At the moment we have several categories regarding different aspects of things that need to be addressed, but nothing resembling a syllabus.

It's not planned at all. We think of something we want to address, and post it. Then we post something else and it goes to the top.

There needs to be an order to the forums and threads. We need to be able to pin or stick a thread as number one, two or three... etc. We'll ALWAYS think of something else that needs to be addressed, so we need to be able to add a new thread and move it down so that it's in a cohesive order, and then pin it.

Remember, I'm a classic antique whose lights are going dim, so please keep it KISS. Keep it Simple for the Stupid:)

You can use this addon to order threads that are stuck. For normal threads, I don't know of a way to keep them sorted in a specific order ignoring any replies that would normally bump it up. I guess the most basic way would be to set the default thread sort order to by title and then line up the threads with alpha or numeric entries in the title thread. The Xenforo default is to list threads by latest reply in a descending order. This is configurable for each forum/node.

Okay, this is what I see:
You have do make the thread sticky at first (checkbox ist empty in your pic) before you can usefully set an order for the sticky thread). You may then need to scroll down within the edit window to see the stick thread order setting - it is at the very bottom of that editor window/popup:

May it be that you did possibly not install the add on but just cop the files to your server?

Good catch! Can't believe I missed that. Only the first two threads are pinned / sticky so only they can be sorted. The thread that has the arrow pointing to the Edit link is NOT a sticky thread.
