OK, folks I'm ready to take the plunge from vBulletin to Xenforo.

Can I get a detailed list on how to do this?

    Thank you.

I'll even start it myself, LOL!

    1 - Purchase Xenforo

    - At what point should I close my vBulletin forum due to maintenance?

    - Won't this create a dup on my FTP? If I was /community, in my case it would be /forums
For example, if you want to access XenForo via www.example.com/community/, create a community directory inside your webroot (such as a public_html or www directory).

You will need to close it at the point you start the final import.

Yes, you will need an installation for both vB and XenForo.

I don't understand. FileZilla won't let me create another directory called /forums

We will be happy to provide support once you are a licensed customer.

This is the pre-sales forum though and detailed support is not provided, for obvious reasons.

I'm going to purchase XenForo sometime today. Am I considered an existing customer or would I fill in new customer?

The customer accounts are separate from the forum accounts.

You will need to create a customer account if you don't already have one.

You can then associate your forum user name with it here: https://xenforo.com/customers/forum-users
