Ready to make the move from 15 years on vB3, now vB3.8.11

Does vB3.8.11 cause any concern or just use the normal 3.8 importer?

Should the gallery be installed at the same time and import from Photopost vBGallery at the same time or add it later? Gallery and Forum share the same user database.

I would do a offline import to validate that you know the import/conversion process inside out

I converted from phpBB a few years back and have been really happy with XF.

That first time you have your shiny new board working and ready is a great feeling, especially after a conversion and you see all your community's old posts have been carried into the future to a platform that's actively developed and healthy. It's a real peace of mind and I am glad you get to feel that.

Plus it's going to be a fun challenge tweaking little things here and there to create the perfect look and feel for your forum. If you haven't already, be sure to make an announcement explaining the reasoning for the software update and a bunch of basic "how to" info for your users so they transition smoothly. Things like the conversation system and alerts and push notifications may need some explanation to people not used to.
