A few months ago, I was hearing that they were not reliable. Not sure if this is still the case.

Yeah and $149 per month seems a bit steep. Not sure if I'm missing something here or there is some additional value to being "on the cloud".

Funny you say that, had a friend report that Amazon Cloud was rubbish for heavy MySQL transactions even though he was on the "optimised" platform.
