Quiz System PRO - Gamification, Analytics, Certificate & User Engagement 1.5.6

No permission to download
I have found a small bug. When you create a quiz and then fill in the questions and try to publish the quiz, this message appears.

"quiz_already_exists_with_title"

You then have to change the name in order to be able to publish the quiz. When you then change the name in order to save it, the questions are gone as well.
You've identified a very peculiar situation, but don't worry, the system hasn't overwritten or deleted anything! Your original quiz, complete with all the questions, is perfectly preserved in the database.

Thanks for reporting it. We'll add the fix in the next release. For now, go to the quiz list (Xenforo admin panel>Quiz system>Quiz Management), find the empty "Duplicate" quiz, and delete the most recent one. Once you delete it, your original quiz will magically return to its original place in the Index!

Thank you! But when I change the quiz from “Moderated” to “Public”, it is shown as published in the admin area, but the quiz itself is empty.

Update v1.5.6 - Maintenance & Bug Fixes 🛠️

Hello everyone! We have just released a maintenance update for the Quiz System (v1.5.6) to address a few bugs reported in the previous version and to improve the overall stability of the add-on.

Changelog / What's fixed in 1.5.6:

  • Admin CP Edit Fix: Resolved an issue where editing and saving an existing quiz via the Admin CP would incorrectly create a duplicate entry instead of updating the original one.
  • Admin CP Category Dropdown: Fixed a bug that caused...

Is there any future chance of creating a quiz in the style of Pokémon Stadium 2 Quiz? That quiz system was quite competitive, with a time limit for each question and the possibility of answering a question before it was typed on the screen. It was great for challenges.

I have two videos here that show this. The first shows how the quiz works in general. You have a countdown timer and a time limit for each question. Whoever answers the most questions correctly within the time limit gets a higher ranking. Whoever gets it wrong loses 10 seconds.

The second video shows more questions and types of questions that also involve images and sounds.

Hi!

Thank you so much for the suggestion and for sharing the videos! That is a really fun and nostalgic idea. A competitive, fast-paced quiz mode with timers for each question and speed-based penalties would be an amazing way to boost community engagement.

Creating such an advanced and highly interactive real-time system requires a significant amount of development time and resources. Right now, our main focus is on expanding the core features of the add-on.

However, if the XenForo community supports the PRO version of this add-on, we will definitely consider developing and introducing this kind of competitive game mode in a future update!

I believe the part involving the penalty wouldn't be necessary, since that's for multiplayer.

In single-player mode, there's no penalty for having to wait for a question; it just deducts time. But this system would be interesting. One question at a time, and the possibility of using the keyboard arrows to answer questions instead of the N64's C buttons. It would be a great way for a person to try to answer quickly with a touch without needing to use the mouse, focusing only on the questions that would be presented with some animation/music/movement.

The ranking part would probably be one of the best things.

I imagine that a quiz like this could even have seasons. For example, a forum admin could create a quiz that runs for 3 months. At the end, the top 10 (or some custom number of people) would win a badge. We have an addon here on Xenforo, [OzzModz] Badges, that could be integrated. In addition to custom rank-based permissions, such as accessing a forum or using a portrait from the [OzzModz] Avatar Gallery,

there are many excellent free integration options with other add-ons.

EDIT:
But perhaps some multiplayer would be a good idea. Local or even with members of the forum itself. For example, the possibility of inviting 3 forum members to compete live online in a question category. For example, the possibility of inviting 3 forum members to compete live online in a question category.

You could create both categories and difficulty levels. You could register the questions and fill the database with questions that would be randomly chosen according to the criteria. This would make the pre-registered questions unpredictable, since they would be drawn at random. And it would also make it more competitive.

I think for a multiplayer game, what counts is the fun. Another interesting thing would be to rank the quiz participants in various ways.

Order by number of questions answered.

Number of times played.

Total time spent answering questions.

% of questions answered correctly.
% of time per question.
Most played category or difficulty level.

Among other metrics.
