XF 2.1 Quick question - Home tab activation

If I want What's New to be the Home Page, I deactivate What's New tab (done) and enter this "{{ link('whats-new') }}" as the Home tab URL (works).

But the Home tab does not stay activated because it wants to activate the non-existent WN tab.

I suppose I could move WN left as the Home tab but naming it is greyed out meaning you would need to change the language globally I think. Seems easier but can't rename in nav settings? Plus having that drop-down ability would be nice to keep so this may be a better solution, if it's easy to rename (template is best?).

EDIT: Found the language; nav.whatsNew, changed to Home. If this is not the best way please let me know. I'd like my homepage URL to be clean if possible (with no index.php?whats-new/).
