Question about a new monitor.

Hello guys,

I have this graphics card: http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?cid=1&gid=3&sgid=1160&lid=1&pid=1487&leg=0

It has a few slots. 1 HDMI, 1 DVI-I and 2 Display Ports.

I'm currently using the HDMI and the DVI-I with a VGA connector to it.
Now, my VGA display is slowly dying and I'm looking for another one.

My questions are:
  1. Can VGA handle full HD? Now it's only 1440x900. Will it work properly?
  2. Can I buy any DVI screen, or do I need a DVI-I one?

DVI-I means it can do both digital and analog(any DVI should work). The VGA connector can handle higher than HD resolution.

If you're going for a new screen I would look for one with a mini-DP instead - these are the next gen after HDMI, however D-Sub VGA ports can handle 1080p HD graphics. Generally most of your good LCD screens have a good selection of 2 or more of these options (D-SUB, DVI-I, HDMI and mini display port) :)
