QQFarm English Translation Development Log

    QQFarm is the game that Farmville was inspired by and was originally created in China. QQFarm has been integrated with Xenforo so that we can use bd Banking for transactions within the game as well as our own username and avatar. This is the closest that xenforo has to a casino or games type addon that is integrated with a point system. I began translating it months ago but because the Development Tools Xenforo addon I'm using is very buggy, I will document my progress here instead.

    If anyone wants to help translate this addon please do because you will greatly speed up it's process.

    Files Translated So Far:

    Proper Folder Path for QQFarm Integration.


    avatar.php and everything inside the library folder has already been translated.

    In the root of the Upload/data/qqfarm folder you'll find the following files:


    Those files are all translated to English

    Inside the Upload/data/qqfarm folder you'll find the following folders:

    In the root of the Upload/data/qqfarm/core folder you'll find the following files:

    Only Upload/data/qqfarm/core/api has been translated.

    Only the following files in these folders require Translation:

    1. Upload/data/qqfarm/core/config - 8thos will translate.
    2. Upload/data/qqfarm/core/data
    3. Upload/data/qqfarm/core/module
    4. Upload/data/qqfarm/core/source - 0xym0r0n will translate.
    5. Upload/data/qqfarm/core/view - Adam Howard will translate.

    I think this big project will be translating the flash file. As I recall this being a flash media game.

    Yeah I've researched that too. There are just as many flash files to translate as regular files. Peep next post.

    How To Edit Flash Files

    First you need a Flash Decompiler such as Trillix. Find it, install it!

    Flash Decompiler Trillix

    Unique Edit options of Flash Decompiler Trillix let you edit SWF file's sounds, images, shapes' colors, shapes' lines, static/dynamic texts and static links without conversion to FLA.​

    • Edit SWF without conversion to FLA
    Flash Decompiler Trillix lets you edit SWF file's elements (sounds, images, shapes' colors, shapes' lines, static/dynamic texts, and static links) without conversion to FLA. Moreover, you can preview changes you've made before saving them.

    To edit texts of a SWF file, do the following:​

    1. First, please, add a file to "My tasks" list.​

    2. After you've added the file, which objects you want to edit, please, switch to "Edit" tab, which is located on a ribbon bar:​


    3. Click "Texts" button:​


    Editing options differ for dynamic and static texts. Let's review both of them:​

    Dynamic texts

    1. Enable word-wrapping
    Word wrap is automatic breaking of text into lines. It allows text to be carried over to the next line so that it stays within the defined margins. Lines are divided in such a way that a word is never split between two lines.​

    2. Enable multi-line text positioning
    This option permits to arrange text in unlimited number of lines. Otherwise the whole text will be displayed in a single line. This single line will not be scrollable; though you can highlight the text and slide it left/right.​

    3. Change text type to passwords with masking
    When the end-user of a Flash file enters some text, it will be hidden, so that only asterisks will be visible. It is usually applied when entering a password.​

    4. Make this dynamic text read-only
    This option permits to make the selected text non-editable for the end-user of a Flash file.​

    5. Enable automatic size setting
    This option permits to automatically adjust text size to the margins of bounding box.​

    6. Allows/Disables text selection
    If enabled, this option permits to select text with a mouse cursor. Otherwise, text selection will be disabled.​

    7. Treat text as HTML
    This option permits to treat plain text as HTML content, thus making it possible to use HTML tags.​

    8. Use system font instead of embedded one
    This option permits to define what fonts will be used: fonts, embedded into the original file, or system fonts.​


    9. Dynamic text editing also includes horizontal alignment - text positioning relative to page margins:​

    Align text to the left - text will be justified to the left margin.​
    Center text - text will be placed evenly between the side margins and between the top and bottom margins.​
    Align text to the right - text will be justified to the right margin.​
    Justify text - text will be aligned to both left and right by adding extra spaces between words.​

    10. Change the text color
    This option permits to change the color of your text - all or only portions of it.​

    11. Text positioning
    This option permits to place data on the page by indicating x and y coordinates.​

    12. Size
    By indicating W(idth) and H(eight) you set the size of bounding box.​

    Static texts

    Please, note: Static texts cannot be edited without editing their font. Once you've selected a new font, editing becomes available for static texts. Otherwise, all options will be grayed out.​

    You will get the following message before editing static texts:​

    Tick the corresponding checkbox not to see this message in future.​

    For static text the following editing options are available:​

    1. Change text font​
    2. Change font size​
    3. Make text bold​
    4. Italicize text​
    5. Change the text color​
    6. Text positioning - see above ("Dynamic texts" section).​
    7. Size - see above ("Dynamic texts" section).​

    Note: Horizontal alignment is not available for static texts.​
    Once all the required objects are edited, you can preview the result. To do it, click "Preview changes" button.​

    If you like the result, you can save the changes:​
    1. Click "Save" button to save all the changes made to the current file.​
    2. Click "Save as ..." button to save the edited SWF as a separate file.​

    To discard all changes you've made to a SWF file and to come back to its last saved state, click "Discard changes" button.​

    My next folder to translate will be Upload/data/qqfarm/core/module - That folder will require Trillian. I already have it installed.

    The rest of you should call out what folders you will translate so that we don't end up translating each other's work.

    Those folders that are left to translate other than module do not require Trillian:


    If you choose one of those folders and translate them successfully then we can combine the files and complete the addon.

    Sorry bro. I think I can't translate right now because I still have a lot of homework and tests coming up. Maybe I will start on Wednesday. (I'm in 9th grade :))

    Hey can you translate this folder please?


    ^^^This folder has two admin folders which look the same, so your expertise may be able to tell if it's just an accidental duplicate file or not and if so we can delete it.

    Yes, there are duplicate files in this addon so keep that in mind. It went from Chinese to Vietnamese and now to English, so there's bound to be duplicates.

    This folder has the least amount of files to translate out of the ones that are left.

    Okay so here's how it stands so far for the folders that are left. First post has been updated.

    5. Upload/data/qqfarm/core/view - Adam Howard will translate.

    Haven't got any updates by anyone for this project so I'll no longer be collaborating with anyone on this. Just gonna keep what I've done so far to myself.

    Timing is key.....

    This project was started in November around the holiday. Was bad timing for me to begin with. December, January.... Also holiday.... February and March .... Part holiday, part vacation, part Birthday (lots of them).


    Was the big part you were missing. I could have that done by MAY 2013 (next month) or you could simply do as you said and forget it. Your call.
