Are there any admin tools for pruning old users and messages?

I like to clean my stuff up - yearly house cleaning

There is no user pruning feature yet. You can delete individual users in the Admin CP.

You can prune a user's messages using the spam cleaner. Or you can prune several messages at once using inline moderation. But there is no mass pruning feature per se.

I'm sure these features will be added in due course. In the meantime you might find an addon for this:
