XF 2.3 Problems with my fresh install

Fresh install, everything seems to be working fine except for the my ability to change stuff around. None of the buttons are showing up as options. The reply to a message is messed up as well. I have cloudflare, checked to see if Rocket Loader was causing the problem but it's already disabled.

What's the solution to this?

Rebuild the master data at /install

Thanks Beer, did that but no luck. did a file check and got this:
File health check results
All 14,037 checked files are present and correct.

Kind of at a loss here.

Could it be an AdBlock or similar browser addon causing that?

It kind of looks like something blocking scripts, but I've tried different computers, two phones, FireFox, Brave, Chrome, Edge, and Epic browsers with no luck.

That was the problem. Somehow the upgrade changed the permissions for the /icons folder and it's contents to root. I changed it back to the user name and it worked. Don't know what happened, all was working well before the upgrade.

Anyway, a big thank you for your help, you solved it!!!

The permissions are still 755, not sure how to check on the user name though. I'm assuming since the permissions are right, the user name is right as well.

Did a re-install and still have the same problem.

The console tab shows an error related to the js file and an unsupported mime type.

If using Chrome press F12 and select Console to view it.

That is a server configuration issue.

Thanks! AndyB was able to walk me through some stuff and we found this error message:

[17-Oct-2025 20:32:46 America/Chicago] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'version' (T_STRING) in /home/peepspla/public_html/reagan/xenforo/data/local/icons/regular.svg on line 1

Sent in a ticket to KnownHost so keeping my fingers crossed.
