XF 2.1 Privatize threads

Is there a way (add on or otherwise) to allow for a thread to be between only select parties? Like for instance only a handful of mentioned people can reply to the thread. It's probably not possible. Just wanted to check. I couldn't find anything in searches.

You could always substitute threads with conversations unless you were looking for a user group type setting. Then, no. All threads within a forum would need to be seen by that user group.

Without going into great detail. The thread would be public accessible to view, but would only want replies by those specifically mentioned by the OP.

The only other, paid, way to accomplish this is with Collaborative Threads.
