Private Messaging/Inbox

A site I am a member of switched to Xenforo from VBulletin & I lost several private messages.

I know Xenforo supports private messaging but are the messages stored in an inbox for the forum members?

Depending on the version of vB - it uses single messages for sending and replying, whereas XF uses 'conversations' where the messages are linked together, thread-style.

Not sure how the XF importer works and how it handles PMs from vB - someone else may be able to explain what happens and whether the messages are left singular or somehow stitched together.

I was curious as to whether Xenforo allowed forum members to maintain an inbox where private messages are stored if some starts a new forum using Xenforo.

Yes, Inbox / PMs are a part of Xenforo.
