XF 2.1 prevent conversations unless its to a staff member

Is it possible to remove the permission for members to start conversations with other members but retain the ability to start a conversation with staff ?


for example:

using conversation permissions, user 1 (registered member) is not allowed to start a conversation (to another registered member), however I would like him to have the facility to start a conversation with a staff member.

You can set the 'Receive new conversations' permission to No for the Registered user group, and set it to Yes for the staff user group.

Note that only refers to new conversations from that point on - it won't affect existing conversations.

Would that also prevent registered users from receiving new conversations from staff members ?

I would like a both way start conversation between users and staff, but not between members to other members

In that case it's going to require a third party add-on, if one exists, otherwise custom development.
