XF 2.0 Preliminary question preparing to convert vBulletin 4.2.5 to Xenforo 2.0.10

I have a vBulletin forum installed in the root folder for the domain (i.e., domain.com/).

Where does Xenforo install by default? or am I asked where I want to install it?

Ideally, I'd like Xenforo to be installed at domain.com/forum/ so I can get all the styling and add-ons ready before we switch the forum over. Any issues or warnings about doing that?

Also, I assume Xenforo will create it's own database and then populate it with the importer. Correct?

Before you install Xenforo 2 you must create your own empty SQL database. You choose the directory to install into, /community/ is "default", you can put it wherever you want. To do so, install all the files in the "upload" folder to your chosen directory. This directory will be called the "xenforo root directory". The installer will walk you through some other things.

I also came from vb 4.2.5 and I couldn't be happier. Make sure you install the vbulletin redirect also https://xenforo.com/community/threads/xenforo-redirects-for-vbulletin.142137/

A bunch of good stuff explained in the guide: https://xenforo.com/xf2-docs/manual/install-upgrade/

I am way behind on sleep and really that first post isn't exactly what I wanted to ask, although you both have answered some of my questions.

Is there any issue with having the vBulletin forum active in the root while I set up Xenforo in /forum/?
